Let’s cook ~ Tofu and Minced Beef in Tausi Sauce

Ingredients:

* 100 gr minced beef

* 2 pcs egg tofu, slice 1 cm

* 1 tablespoon canned tausi

* red chili, sliced

* onion, sliced

* garlic, chopped

* 2 cm ginger, sliced thin

* spring onion, sliced

* oyster sauce

* soy sauce

* fish sauce

* sugar, if needed

* salt

* white pepper

* water sufficiently

*1 tablespoon maizena, diluted in sufficient water

*2 tablespoons cooking oil

*1 tablespoon sesame oil

Cooking steps:

* marinate minced beef with soy sauce, fish sauce, white pepper. Set aside.

* fry tofu until skinned. Set aside.

* sauté garlic, onion, ginger in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, stir until it smells good

* add red chili, then minced beef, stir until the meat changes  color

* add fried tofu, tausi, oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, and a little water

* add salt, sugar, white pepper, cook well until the meat is tender

* add diluted maizena and spring onion, cook until the sauce thickens

* ready to serve

Let’s cook ~ Spicy Stirfry Salted Jambal Fish and Long Beans plus Petai

Ingredients:

* 150 gr salted jambal fish, diced cut

* 1 bundle long beans, cut 2 cm

* 100 gr petai, sliced

* cayenne (cabe rawit), sliced

* red chili, sliced

* green chili, sliced

* tomato, diced cut

* onion, sliced

* garlic, chopped

* lime leaves, remove it’s spine, sliced thin

* sugar, a pinch

* salt, if needed

* 4 table spoons cooking oil

Cooking steps:

* well fry the salted jambal fish, set aside

* sauté garlic and onion in 4 tablespoons of cooking oil, stir until it smells good

* add cayenne, red chili and green chili, stir 1 minute

* add long beans, stir and cook until wilted

* add petai, stir 2 minutes

* add fried jambal fish, stir well

* add sugar, salt, tomato, lime leaves, stir until all mixed

* ready to serve

Let’s cook ~ Sauteed Vermicelli Vegetables Chicken

Ingredients:

* 200 gr vermicelli, put into normal water to soften

* 150 gr chicken boneless breast, diced cut

* 1 bundle mustard greens (caisim/sawi hijau)

* witloof (sawi putih)

* bean sprouts (tauge)

* half piece carrot, sliced thin

* 2 eggs

* spring onion, sliced

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

* salt

* white pepper

* fish sauce (kecap ikan)

* 2 table spoons cooking oil

Cooking steps:

* make scramble egg, set aside

* sauté garlic and onion in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, stir until it smells good

* add chicken, stir until the chicken meat turns to white

* add carrot, stir 2 minutes

* add mustard greens, witloof, and bean sprouts, stir 2 minutes

* add scrambled egg, stir until all mixed

* add fish sauce, salt, white pepper

* add spring onion, stir a while, ready to serve

Let’s cook ~ Vegetables Vermicelli Chicken Stirfried

Vermicelli cooked with vegetable is always favorite to me and my family.

 

Ingredients:

* 200 gr vermicelli, put into normal water to soften

* 150 gr chicken boneless breast, diced cut

* Broccoli

* Mustard greens (caisim/sawi hijau)

* Cabagge

* half piece carrot, sliced as matchsticks

* 50 gr black fungus (black ear fungus), put into water to soften, then sliced thin

* spring onion, sliced

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

* 3 pcs red chili, sliced thin sloping

* half piece tomato, slice into 4 pcs

* salt

* white pepper

* 2 table spoons cooking oil

Cooking steps:

* sauté garlic and onion in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, stir until it smells good

* add chicken, and red chili, stir until the chicken meat turns to white

* add carrot and broccoli, stir 2 minutes

* add mustard greens and  cabbage, stir 2 minutes

* add black fungus, then vermicelli, stir until all mixed

* add salt, white pepper

* add spring onion and tomato

* served upon cooked is best

With garlic and ginger being sautéed in sesame oil, this soup offers an enjoyable warmth

 

Ingredients:

* 8 pcs meatbal, cut 4 each

* 8 pcs fishball, cut 4 each

* half piece carrot, sliced thin

* mustard curly (sawi keriting)

* spring onion, sliced

* half piece tomato, slice into 8 pcs

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

* 1,5 cm ginger, sliced

* salt

* white pepper

* 2 table spoons sesame oil

* 1500 ml water

* sauté garlic, onion  and ginger in 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, stir until it smells good

* add carrot, stir 1 minute

* add meatballs and fishballs, stir 1 minute

A single portion for my lunch

 

Ingredients:

* Spiral colourful pasta, boiled with half tablespoon salt in boiling water

* boneless breast chicken cutlets

* 2 cm carrot, chopped rough

* mustard green (sawi hijau/caisim)

* lettuce

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

*red chilli and cayenne (cabe rawit)

* 3 pcs lime leaves, sliced

* salt

* white pepper

* 2 tablespoons olive oil

* sauté garlic, onion and chillies in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, stir until it smells good

* add chicken, stir until the chicken meat turns to white

* add carrot, stir 2 minutes

Let’s Cook ~ Fishcake, tofu and string beans spicy stirfried

Do enjoy the flavor of lime leaves again from this simple dish.

 

 Ingredients:

*  6 pieces fishcake (ready-made), sliced sloping

* 1 pc white tofu, cut, fried, set aside

* 100 gr string beans, cut 2cm

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

* red chili and cayenne, cut          

* 3 pcs lime leaves, sliced thin

* salt

* white pepper

* cooking oil

Cooking steps:

* sauté garlic, onion, and chilies in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, stir until it smells good

* add fishcake, stir 2 minutes

* add string beans, stir 3 minutes

* add fried tofu, stir 2 minutes

* add salt, white pepper, stir until everything is well mixed

* the last, sprinkle the lime leaves onto the dish, stir a while until the aroma of lime leaves is smelled

Let’s cook ~ Broccoli Fishballs in Oyster Sauce

I always love the aroma of ginger, garlic and onion being sauted in olive oil.

 

Ingredients:

* broccoli

* half piece carrot, sliced as matchsticks

* 8 pcs fishball, cut half, then sliced

* 1 egg, make omelette, then sliced thin, set aside

* spring onion, sliced

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

* salt

* white pepper

* 1,5 cm ginger, sliced

* oyster sauce

* soy sauce(kecap manis), if like

* 2 table spoons olive oil

Cooking steps:

* add fishball, stir 1 minute

* add carrot and broccoli, stir 3 minutes

Let’s cook ~ Meatballs Vegetable Soup

I’m in the mood of cooking meatball and fishball dishes, so there will be some menus using these ingredients  during this week.

Ingredients:

* 10 pcs meatball, cut 4 each

* carrot, sliced thin

* baby corn, lengthwise cut

* mustard green (caisim)

* 1 pc white tofu, cut, fried, set aside

* spring onion, sliced

* celery, sliced

* half pc tomato, cut

* onion, chopped

* garlic, chopped

* 1,5 cm ginger, sliced

* salt

* white pepper

* 2 table spoons sesame oil

* 1500 ml water

Cooking steps:

* sauté garlic, onion  and ginger in 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, stir until it smells good

* add carrot and baby corn, stir 2 minutes

* add meatballs, stir 1 minute

* add salt and white pepper

* add water, cook until its boiling point

* add fried tofu, stir

* add mustard green, stir

* the last, add sliced spring onion, celery and tomato

* served while the soup is still hot/warm

Let’s cook – Bubur Sumsum (rice flour porridge)

Such a dainty and tasty Indonesian dessert. Easy to make, but it’s really good.

 

Ingredients for the porridge:

* 300 gram good quality rice flour

* 1500 ml thick coconut milk

* 2 pcs pandan leave,washed and make knots

* 1 teaspoon salt

 

Ingredients for the sauce

* 350 gram brown sugar, thinly scraped

* 1 pc pandan leave, washed and cut into 5 pcs

* 2 tablespoon white sugar

* 150 ml water

Making steps:

* Put rice flour, salt and 750 ml (approx.) coconut milk in a bowl, mix them well, then set aside

* Boil the other 750 ml coconut milk on small cooking fire while keep stirring

* Add 2 knots of pandan leave into the boiled coconut milk

* Add the mixture of rice flour, salt, and coconut milk into the boiled coconut milk, keep slowly stirring until it’s getting condensed and denser, lift from the burner and set aside

* Boil brown sugar in water, add pandan leave cutlets, cook until its boiling point

* If needed, filter the sauce out, to make it dregs free

* Serve porridge with brown sugar sauce. I add some slices of roasted almond as topping.  It is seriously dainty and tasty!
